Waving the White Flag.
One of the things my boyfriend and I fight about is computer games. I know, so trivial right? And yes, it shouldn’t be such a big deal for me because it’s a guy thing. It’s what he likes to do to relax after a long tiring day at school. I really have nothing against it—unless he says he’ll be done in 20 minutes and 20 minutes turns into an hour or more. That’s when I go crazy.
Last night was no exception. We were chatting on Facebook and I told him that I’m going downstairs to wash up. He then replied saying that he was just going to play a couple of rounds of CoD (is that right?) and won’t take more than 20 minutes. Well 20 minutes ended up being more than half an hour so I sent him a chat message telling him that I’m going to bed and that I’ll just send him a goodnight text. I sent him a text message and I waited for him to reply. Well, I guess I was waiting in vain because there was still something wrong with his phone’s signal so he wasn’t receiving messages and couldn’t send any either. We met up in the classroom early this morning for our Statistics class and I just blew up. I kept ranting and ranting. Eventually, my anger got the best of me and I stormed out of the classroom.
Bad idea. As I was walking away, in a hurry, I felt a sharp pain in my chest and knew what was coming. ASTHMA. Gaaahh. I couldn’t breathe. I don’t even know how I managed to walk from the 3rd floor of the Engineering building all the way to the Soccer Field. But I do remember crashing on my left side against a wall really hard. Well, I made it to the benches behind the Chapel and immediately sent a text message to Oshin. She came over in less than 5 minutes and took me to the Infirmary.
As I was resting in the not-so-comfy room for the ladies, I realized my mistake. I shouldn’t have ranted. I shouldn’t have nagged. You know how I spent the rest of the day? Apologizing. Yep. I swallowed my pride and apologized to the BF.
And you know what else I did? I asked him to show me the game he was playing last night so I’d understand why it keeps him hooked. Watching him play wasn’t enough for me, though. I asked him to teach me how to play. And yes, it really is a gripping game. I just need to master the controls.
You know what they say—if you can’t beat them, join them!

When we drive around his neighborhood and he see’s a house with a sign “for sale”, he says “We’ll live there one day. I want us to live around here so it will be easy for Mum to visit when she wants to”. I love how he plans his future and includes me :)
